Start with the load path
Anchorage design begins with the forces at the base plate: tension, shear, moment and any dynamic component. These determine bolt diameter, embedment and whether a bend, hook or plate anchorage is appropriate.
Specification checklist
Before issuing an enquiry, confirm the following:
- Diameter and total length
- Embedment detail — bend, hook or plate
- Thread length and projection above finished concrete
- Material or grade requirement
- Surface finish and coating thickness
- Nuts, washers, templates and sleeves required
- Quantity per foundation type and total
- Inspection and documentation requirements
- Delivery location and required date
Plan the supply against the programme
On large sites, delivery sequencing matters as much as the product. Batch-wise packing keyed to foundation types reduces sorting time and avoids the wrong bolt group reaching the wrong pedestal.
